I live in Oamaru with my partner Rod and our youngest school age son. Between us we have 4 boys and I am step Nana to gorgeous twin girls. I enjoy growing my own veges, getting creative in the garden, burying my nose in a book, holidays in the mountains, watching an inter-school rugby game and looking after and riding my beautiful horse.
I am a Nurse at the Oamaru Maternity Centre, where I am mainly involved in the first few days of breastfeeding and baby care. I also facilitate ante-natal 'Breastfeeding Basics' groups, free of charge at the Maternity Centre, drawing on my skills as a Childbirth Educator, my work at the Centre and my continuing studies of anything related to breastfeeding.
My volunteer work as a Breastfeeding Peer Supporter in the community sometimes sees me helping parents I already know, which serves as a great ice-breaker!
