Hello! I am one of the Peer Support Programme Administrators for the Dunedin area. I have a school-aged child, a grown up son and a granddaughter, and live with my family and our dogs in Macandrew Bay. I qualified with a Diploma in Breastfeeding Counselling from the University of Bedfordshire in the UK and have been working with breastfeeding families in the UK and NZ for around 12 years. I created the Breast Room in South Dunedin which is managed by Bushie, along with some of our lovely Dunedin Peer Supporters. I am also an accredited La Leche League Leader. Aside from my passion to help families with their feeding questions and concerns, I am an animal loving, homeschooling mum, who loves learning and enjoys reading, knitting and a wee bit of crochet! I'd love for all mamas to feel happy about their decisions on how to feed their baby (whatever their choice), and would love them to have the help they need right when they need it, so if you have questions or concerns, before or after your baby is born, then drop me a text or email, or pop in to The Breast Room on a Tuesday or Thursday morning, 10am to midday.
Peer Supporters are not medical professionals, but are volunteers trained to provide information and support through common challenges to the normal course of breastfeeding.
