I became a mum about a year ago. Nothing can prepare you for becoming a mum, especially how challenging breastfeeding can be. I had quite a traumatic birth that resulted in an emergency C-section and found it hard to breastfeed initially. It was quite painful for several months, but I was determined I wanted to continue breastfeeding. Some days felt like I couldn't do it for another day. But I stuck at it and I'm really glad I did. Breastfeeding is a journey some parts are really hard and other parts are absolute joy and you feel a huge sense of achievement. Remember you are providing an amazing thing for your baby. If you need a listening ear, I am happy to help, and can also try to answer any questions or concerns you may have in regards to breastfeeding. I am only a text away if you would like to get in touch.
Peer Supporters are not medical professionals, but are volunteers trained to provide information and support through common challenges to the normal course of breastfeeding.
