I trained as a peer supporter in 2011 and have been working with mums in the community and at The Breast Room ever since. I volunteer at the Breast Room in Dunedin every Tuesday morning and enjoy meeting mothers from all walks of life and helping them with their breastfeeding goals. I also enjoy visiting mums and their babies at home. As well as home visits, I'm available to help through texting, email and phone calls.
Peer Supporters are not medical professionals, but are volunteers trained to provide information and support through common challenges to the normal course of breastfeeding.
